The MP visited Amble and Alnwick and was delighted to see shoppers out enjoying the sunshine and patronising local stores.
She said: “It was wonderful to see our high streets bustling again and the great lengths local businesses have gone to, in order to ensure they can keep customers safe. I am sure everyone who has been to our shops will feel hugely reassured by the steps they have taken, which are vital to ensure we can all safely welcome visitors again from July 4.”

Anne-Marie said: “It was lovely to catch up with Judy at the Origami Café in Alnwick and to see so many others enjoying their tasty treats al fresco.”
The MP has spoken of her particular joy that local B&Bs and holiday sites in Northumberland will be able to re-open.
“I have been inundated with emails of concern over the past months from the tourism industry which has been particularly hard hit,” she said. “I know from my own conversations with them that they are ready for opening, and have put comprehensive measures in place to ensure guests and our local communities can stay safe.
