Two paddle-boarders had to be rescued after getting into difficulties off Warkworth Beach.
Lifeboat crews were alerted to the incident at 3.45pm today (August 3).
A statement from the Coastguard said: “We received a 999 call from a member of the public to report two paddle-boarders being swept out to sea at Warkworth beach.
"Amble Coastguard Rescue Team and RNLI lifeboat were sent to bring the two people back to shore.”
