Pickers wanted for litter blitz
And its first full litter blitz for a long time has already been arranged for this Sunday – meet 1.30pm, ends 3pm.
Members of the group have still been busy when allowed in the last year, such as litter picks taking place with six people (maximum number permitted in some parts of the year).

Hide AdThese Street Blitzes included one last Saturday on the lane that runs to Hebron from the Morpeth-Longhirst B1337 road.
The items picked up included 22 bags of collected litter, two tyres, an old chrome lorry bumper, lots of bits of cars, two bags of hardened plaster and grass cuttings left in bags.
Many people also made an Adopt a Street promise as part of the group’s initiative that was established last year and litter-picking has been incorporated into their daily/weekly routines.
The group was set-up in 2018 by Morpeth resident and Keep Britain Tidy Ambassador Dai Richards, who said: “We are allowed a maximum of 30 places, so if you are interested in taking part on Sunday please send an email to [email protected] by 5pm tomorrow (Friday) – provide a contact email address and mobile number that we can use to contact you and advise if a place has been allocated to you.”
A £1 per person donation for taking part is being asked for to help cover the costs of various items that the group needs.
