Mum-of-three to get new mohican haircut in fundraiser to support NHS staff

Michelle Walker-Smith, a director at Aqua Lettings in Morpeth, will be scalped live on Facebook at noon on Wednesday, April 15.
So far, the crop has raised over £800 for baby units at Wansbeck General and the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle.

Hide AdMichelle, 48, has three children, Nathan 11, Jessica nine and Patrick five. Michelle has never forgotten how NHS staff helped when her sons were born with heart problems.
She wants to return the favour and have a laugh at the same time, especially now with the NHS under enormous pressure.
Michelle said: “I’ve been keeping in touch with my tenants, family and friends to keep their spirits up. I said if I got over £500 I would do it. I got over that in 48 hours. We’re up to £805 so far.
“I almost feel guilty for not being put at risk as the nurses are. So I’m going to give something back and have my head shaved. It’s my way of giving back and raising a smile.

“I’m going to have a mohican and my friend has given me some blue spray. We’re going to do it live of Facebook at 12 noon.”
