This is part of a wider plan to plant ornamental trees including fruiting varieties throughout the town.
Planting fruit trees within Alnwick is a Neighbourhood Plan community action proposal and will offer free fruit to anyone who wishes to harvest them for years to come.
The varieties include apples, damsons and plums.

Hide AdCllr Martin Swinbank said: “These trees will offer free healthy fruit to families and the wider community to harvest every autumn.
"They will help in a small part to tackle the issue of food security.
"Not only that, but they will offer food for pollinating insects such as bees and a habitat for birds and other wildlife.
"They will sequester carbon during their life-time while also being ornamentally attractive to visitors to the park.
