RNLI volunteers in Berwick called out to help a yacht which was caught on lobster pot ropes
RNLI crews in Berwick were called requested by the UK Coastguard shortly before 6.30pm on Friday, June 18, to launch the all-weather lifeboat (ALB) after a sailing yacht had gotten into difficulty.

Hide AdIt was determined that the inshore lightboat (ILB) would also be required to assist and both boats worked together to free the yacht.
A casualty care trained crew was placed aboard the yacht to monitor a person who was suffering from the effects of seasickness.
RNLI crews towed the casualty vessel back to Berwick Dock after it was deemed that steering problems and the danger of the yacht being blown onto the rocks was a potential risk.
