The colourful displays will brighten up the dark days of winter and hopefully spread some festive cheer to residents and visitors alike.
Take a look at our list of when and where the lights are being switched on where you live….
1. Alnwick
Alnwick switch-on: Friday, November 22 in the Marketplace Last year, Millie Snaith, a pupil from St Paul's RC School, had the honour of switching the lights on. This year they will be switched on by the Duchess of Northumberland.
The entertainment starts at 6pm with the decorating of the tree. There will be children's entertainment, carol singers, food and Santa!
There will also be a singalong to The Greatest Showman in the Northumberland Hall from 4pm-6.30pm. It is being hosted by Alnwick International Music Festival. Get tickets via Eventbrite.
A Northumbrian ceilidh follows the switch-on from 7.30pm to 10.30pm, hosted by Dance Dynamic and Alnwick Music Festival. All the dances will be explained and walked through before you get the chance to swing and swirl. Tickets via Eventbrite.

2. Amble
An annual torchlight procession to launch the festive season in Amble is set to be the biggest ever.
The event takes place on Sunday, November 17 when the Christmas lights will be switched on.
There have already been over 200 participants in the workshops with the first schools and community groups involved.
As ever the parade starts at the Wellwood at 5pm and processes down Queen Street into the Town Square.
This year the theme is Flights of Fancy – look out for an amazing array of fabulous face masks, lanterns, banners and flags.
The lanterns and masks workshops have been organised by Frances Anderson at Dry Water Arts.
Santa has also agreed to drop in to the Harbour Village from about 4pm.
Money for the workshops came from the Northumberland Cultural Fund and the Co-op Local Community Fund, and the event is organised by Amble Events Committee.
